Greetings internet dwellers! Well, finally, HHN Orlando has officially released the dates for HHN XXVII. The event will run on select nights, starting on September 15th, through November 4th. They also released one of their "it's never too soon to start panicking" videos. Of course, with most HHN talk, there is also some complaining. September 28th, is mysteriously missing from the date calendar. This is weird, as it is a Thursday, and in the second full week of the event. I am sure they have their reasons, but some FFP people are already crying foul. They gave you more dates elsewhere, so there will be plenty of dates for FFP people to attend. The final night, is on a Saturday, which is also ruffling some normal FFP holding people. A lot of them, like to attend the final night, and this could turn into a 2014 situation for some. We will see. Let's talk about length (giggity). This is the longest HHN has ever gone. Is it too much? I am indifferent on this front. Halloween Horror Nights, has grown exponentially over the last five years. While last year may have been a bit down, compared to 2015, the Halloween Horror Nights machine, is still sitting high. The powers that be, are just feeding the machine. People want more, so they are giving it to them. Is it greed? Not really. Universal Orlando, is a business, and they are in the business of making money. As much as people don't like to hear that, it's reality. So if people want more, then I'm all for giving them more. A business wanting to make money isn't greed, it's business. Where the greedy aspect comes in, is doing something like inflating wait times, so more people buy Express Passes. That to me, is greedy. So, no, I don't think it's greedy. Now, my logical brain says "holyfuckingshitthatsalotofdates". However, I don't inherently see anything wrong with the longest running HHN event, thus far. Anyway, you can see the HHN video below. We are creeping into reveal season, and we all wait with baited breath. So long for now, friends. Greetings internet dwellers!
Well, while Hollywood has been churning out their code names nonstop, HHN Orlando has been taking their time. Patrick Braillard, gave us Orlando fans, the second code name for HHN 27 today. BRAINS, is the word. While HHN Orlando's code names aren't as complicated as John Murdy's and Hollywood's, I have to wonder about this one. Is it a bait and switch? Brains, to me, is The Walking Dead. I'm applying the Occam's Razor rule here. But, that could be too obvious. Or perhaps, maybe even Night of the Living Dead, which would make me very happy. It also appears, Patrick Braillard, is showrunning the event again this year. He also ran last year's event, and HHN 21. So, there you have it. We are slowly marching into busy season here. Now, we wait for more. Greetings internet dwellers!
Well here we are. So, as most of you know, I decided to switch things up a few months ago. HHN Legacy became Bad Decision Land. I received some mixed reaction from people. I quickly realized that I actually had other human beings, follow and read my stuff. It was quite the humbling experience. Recently, I was communicating with someone, who had been following me from the beginning. HHN Legacy, will be 5 years old in June. I will not disclose the conversation, but I was convinced that I needed to switch back. While I still can't compete with other places around the interwebs, those who read and explore HHN Legacy, do it because they like who I am. I had also been trying to incorporate HHN Legacy more with Bad Decision Land, but it just wasn't working out. HHN Legacy, comes at this from a "buyers" perspective of sorts. Weather it's Halloween Horror Nights, or general theme park stuff, I don't get special treatment. Everything I do, I pay for. I am not media. I feel, and continue to feel, this does not cloud my judgment of things. And that will never change. I generally don't care what other people think of me. I believe that I am a nice guy. I hate confrontation, but if confrontation should happen to find me, I will fight it head on. I am also not afraid to call folks out on bullshit. That being said, there are a few places out there, who are officially nixed from the Christmas card list this year. You know who you are. This community, can be a cutthroat place to be. It is filled with backstabbers, liars and egomaniacs. In the time I have been doing this, I never let it affect me. Perhaps, in a moment of weakness, I did. And for that, I am sorry. It won't happen again. There are a few other things I would like to address. I am still only but one man. I will be making some cuts going forward, and entertaining new ideas to reach people. One casualty of this, will be the HHN Legacy Facebook page. I will be nixing that in the very near future. If you follow the page, and have a Twitter, please make sure you are following me on there. I am also still in the middle of a makeover here. Things will continue to look a little weird, as I finish up. I still expect to have everything done in the spring. HHN Legacy, will also have a little more of a blog feel. I will still be talking about general things, outside of just Halloween Horror Nights. Movie Report Cards, will continue to be a part of HHN Legacy. If you notice, looking at other places around the web, HHN Legacy has a brighter color palette. That is on purpose. Yes, Halloween Horror Nights is a "scary" event. However, I am different. Brighter, is also lighter, and that's who I am. We all should be having fun, including myself. So with that, we move forward. Thank you to those who like what I do. -Topher |
