Greetings internet dwellers! Leatherface returned this year, so why not bring along a friend? Halloween has stalked its way back to the event, for the 2nd time. The new house, while inspired by the real Halloween II, looks like it won't be a direct adaptation of the film. The first house, was quite simply one the best HHN has ever produced. The fact that it took Orlando so long to bring the property to the event the first time, is criminal. At least they didn't wait too long to bring it back. Halloween, will also be coming to both coasts. Mike Aiello, gave a few details about what to expect with Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield: "Just like the movies, we’ve been inspired to continue the story. You’ll experience the final scene of 2014’s maze and immediately walk in-between the homes of Haddonfield. You’ll be attacked by Myers the entire way before seeking refuge within the hospital. We’re recreating all the iconic events from the story, including Myers’ fiery “end." Mike also went on to say that the team is once again collaborating with Halloween series producer, Malek Akkad, to bring the house to life. You can see the announcement video below. The first house was immensely popular. The character of Michael Myers, and the film Halloween, go hand in hand with the holiday. While yes, Halloween was done two years ago, bringing another incarnation of the property back to HHN this year, seems like a good fit for the line-up. Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield, is a good companion house, to the other two "classic" houses (TCM, and The Exorcist). I was waiting for this particular house to be announced, as I knew there would be some interesting reactions.
This isn't a Walking Dead situation. This isn't an American Werewolf situation. This is a sequel house. Is it all that different from doing a sequel property to one of the originals? Or bringing back an Icon who was used two years prior? Or the year before? The truth is, no, no it isn't. |
