Well, the hit horror franchise is making its way to Halloween Horror Nights Orlando, as a Scare Zone. The sequel to last year's film, The Purge: Anarchy, was released over the weekend, and made nearly 30 million in ticket sales. That's not to shabby when you consider it only cost 9 million to make. I HATED the first film, and consider it one of the worst movies ever made. I have not, nor will I see the sequel on protest, so I will only be experiencing this because I must. It is a Scare Zone after all, so I guess I have no choice. HHN Hollywood will also be getting Anarchy as a Scare Zone.
The Purge: Anarchy will takeover the New York section of the park. I do think, New York will make a great backdrop for this, even though I loathe the Purge coming to the event. Almost a week after word accidentally made its way onto Youtube announcing From Dusk Till Dawn as a House early, it's happened again. The official Facebook page for the Halloween franchise, posted the image above not too long ago. Of course, it was hastily taken down soon after. So unofficially, Halloween is coming to HHN XXIV. The thing that sucks here, is that this is a big announcement for HHN, which has now been leaked early. I'm pretty sure this, and people being able to see the currently under construction façade at Sprung Tent 2, are not sitting well with the powers that be right now. This is obviously not how they want things to go. At least this time, leaking the House info didn't originate internally. The Halloween Facebook page jumped the gun.
Halloween is an IP a lot of HHN Orlando fans, have wanted at the event for a long time. Yes, Michael Myers has been inside a few Houses in the past, but never his own House. I would suspect that HHN will have to make this official as soon as possible. Which may be driving them insane right about now. I'm pretty sure they were ready to announce something else this Friday... The Scare Zone is officially back according to Mike Aiello, and Face Off is only the first. HHN will team-up with the hit SyFy show, and bring some nightmarish ghouls to the streets. The Scare Zone will feature 10 different monster creations, and inhabit five separate "immersive" areas within the Scare Zone. The Zone will feature various creations from past seasons of the show, and also feature a winning design from the upcoming seventh season. The Face Off Scare Zone will be located in the Hollywood section of the park. Face Off winner and former make-up artist for HHN Laura Tyler, will also be bringing one of her creations to life for the Scare Zone. Meanwhile, over in Hollywood, Face Off will be featured as a maze, located in the House of Horrors attraction at the park. While it has not been officially confirmed yet, From Dusk Till Dawn will be coming to Halloween Horror Nights XXIV. A video surfaced via Universal Orlando's Youtube page, showcasing director Robert Rodriguez and the cast of the From Dusk Till Dawn series, elated about the property being featured at this year's Halloween Horror Nights. You may remember, a House announcement was supposed to have taken place at some point during the week, but was delayed. Perhaps, this was that announcement. The video on the Youtube channel, was quickly made private mere minutes after it went live. Oops. The video also confirms the property will be featured at both HHN in Orlando, and Hollywood. I would suspect HHN and Universal to be making an official announcement very shortly. EDIT: Universal and HHN made it official this morning, From Dusk Till Dawn is coming to HHN XXIV. Below, is the announcement video from Rober Rodriguez, and the cast of the TV show. What do you think about From Dusk Till Dawn coming to the event? Mike Aiello teased yesterday via Twitter, that a new House announcement is imminent this week! Keep your eye to Twitter, you never know when it will come. I also was down at the Grand Opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Diagon Alley yesterday, and was able to snap a few pictures of a facade being built for Sprung Tent 2. Looks like a nice little house to come "HOME" to.
