Greetings internet dwellers! We have our commercial. Well, rather a short film, which can be broken up into tiny commercials, for HHN 29. I really like the approach to do a mini-movie, rather than just dumping a random commercial on us. Back in 2017, we had director Eli Roth, do something similar with that commercial. There was a long version, dubbed the "Director's Cut", which was shortened to air on TV. "Watch Party", has more of a narrative than that one though. With "Watch Party", you can clearly see the points where they can break up the add, to promote individual things. Featured, is Stranger Things, US, and Universal Monsters. HHN Orlando's Twitter, also gave us a short version, which features Ghostbusters separately. Now we wait for the billboards of course. The Publix standees are already popping up in stores. The marketing blitz for HHN 29, is now in full swing. We are t-minus two weeks away, from opening night. Hasta La Bye-bye for now. Greetings internet dwellers!
Well, we have one of our little surprises this year. HHN 29 will be utilizing the lagoon, to do their own show. Halloween Marathon of Mayhem, will showcase 80's classics. It feature everything from TV shows, to Stranger Things, to Ghostbusters. The show will run on event nights, 3 times a night. I suspect this is one of the reasons why South Street isn't being used as a scare zone location either. Nevertheless, I'm excited about this, as I've been hearing about this for a while. Of course, nobody believed me when I said it was happening. Anyway, so there you have it. Hasta La Bye-bye for now. Greetings internet dwellers! I know this is late, but I would be angry with myself if I didn't didn't do a blog. Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses, is coming to HHN 29. It is our last house in the lineup for the year. The house will be based on Zombie's cult classic film from 2003. You know the drill. Corpses, is inspired by 70's Grindhouse films. Including the Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The house will be located in the MIB Tent. I am really excited about this house. It's pretty self-explanatory. It will be based on Zombie's film. That's it. We have our lineup. 10 houses. 5 scare zones. 2 shows. One show left to be announced. The event is mere weeks away. You can see the announcement video below. Hasta La Bye-bye for now. Greetings internet dwellers!
Well, we had a little bit of mishap this morning. Rob Zombie, may have said a little too much too early on Twitter. HHN Orlando followed suit a little bit latter revealing all five scare zones, and the return of Academy of Villains. The five scare zones are as follows: Zombieland: Double Tap It’s time to brush up on those rules of survival. Based on the hit film and its upcoming sequel, this scare zone puts you in the middle of the United States of Zombieland. The infection has spread and bloodthirsty zombies are everywhere. The most important rule to remember: Always double tap.4 Rob Zombie: Hellbilly Deluxe You know his music, now it’s time to live it. Step into the heavy metal horror of Rob Zombie’s music and imagery in this pulse-pounding scare zone. From otherworldly beings to brutal maniacs, you’ll come face-to-face with his twisted creations as the music cranks to a frenzy. Vikings: Undead We’re all familiar with the brutal Viking warriors. It’s terrifying enough thinking about facing them alive. Now picture facing them as the undead. They have risen and laid siege to Central Park with an onslaught of gore. Bloodlust never dies. Vanity Ball Beauty is pain. Literally. In the streets of Hollywood, your flesh becomes the canvas as blade-wielding artists slice up willing participants into horrific living works of art. Here, going under the knife takes on a whole other meaning. Anarch-cade An 80s-inspired arcade has taken over Avenue of the Stars. At first glance, you may think it’s a party. However, you quickly learn that “Game Over” means a permanent end for you. A gang of neon slashers are out to play and this is one game you won’t want to lose. On top of that, Academy of Villains was also confirmed to return. I have been told a title for the show, but it was not confirmed on the blog, so I won't reveal that here. So, with that, just one more house left to announce. Stay tuned... Greetings internet dwellers!
Two announcements in a row? Yeah, well, we kind of need things to be announced at this point. I know people are eager to have the scare zones announced, but nevertheless we have another house. Graveyard Games, will be our last original house for the year. Graveyard Games, will take place in Ascension Parish Cemetery. A bunch of punk teens have been acting a fool in the cemetery, and it has angered the spirits. Naturally, the angered spirits will seek revenge on those punk teens, and us, as we walk through the cemetery. The blog also mentions a bit of an interactive element with the house. Before you enter the house, you can chat with the locals and get details on the cemetery itself. Apparently, this cemetery has some secrets that may be of interest. So that completes the original houses for this year. One more house to go! Hasta La Bye-bye for now. Greetings internet dwellers! So, Us has been officially announced for Halloween Horror Nights this year. The drama surrounding this has been quite known I think, by most people. At least to those who follow things closely. Depending on who you talk to, Us replaced an original house, very late in the game. It created quite the tizzy among some people. That being said, I think Us is a good choice to come to the event. It's one of the most successful horror films of the year, making a shitload of money. It's Jordan Peele, a director who is extremely hot right now and at the top of his game. There was a call to have Get Out at the event a few years, but that ultimately didn't materialize. I think Us is a better fit, to bring to the event anyway. It's more of a straight forward horror film than Get Out. While it still plays with social themes and issues like Get Out, the film is more accessible on the surface. This has me both nervous and excited. I really enjoy Us, but I think this has a whole lot of potential to fail. Given its late addition, and the themes, it's going to be tough. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for this, but a bit nervous. Anyway, so Us, is coming. You can see the announcement video below. Greetings internet dwellers! It's been speculated to death the last few years. This morning, in shadow of the land where the new theme park will be built, Universal made it official. Universal's Epic Universe is coming... at some point. Universal stayed pretty mum about what and when, only that it's coming. The blog says this: "Universal’s Epic Universe will offer an entirely new level of experiences that will forever redefine theme park entertainment. Guests will venture beyond their wildest imagination, traveling into beloved stories and through vibrant lands on adventures where the journey is as astounding as the destination. The new location will feature a theme park, an entertainment center, hotels, shops, restaurants and more. Ultimately, this expansion will create more space and freedom to let loose and create lasting memories with the people you love." The new resort is also expected to have new hotels, and of course, shops. Tom Willams said they don't want to reveal too much because of competition. He even threw a bit of shade at The Mouse saying, "A Universe is bigger than a world." During the press conference, it was revealed that the park would bring in 14,000 new jobs to the area, and the base rate of pay would start at $15.00 an hour. A few other details were shed, especially when it comes to transportation. Epic Universe will sit along Universal Boulevard, and is about 12 minutes from it's current resort. It was said they are working on a transportation link between the parks. If that just includes buses, or something else entirely, we aren't sure. Universal is also looking to have a train stop starting in South Florida, and ending at the Orange County Convention Center, which is right across from the new park. While they didn't release any of the details about themeing, lands, rides, or shows inside the park, they did release a piece of concept art. There are two area's of interest inside the art. One, looks like the wildly circulated piece of art supposedly for Super Nintendo World, and the other appears to be a castle structure. The castle is interesting, as a land based around the Universal Classic Monsters is also speculated to be in the park. The art does showcase another note of interest, a twisty roller coaster in the bottom right. The park entrance, continues with Universal tradition, and is adorned with archways. It's also important to keep in mind, that concept art is just a guide. Nothing in the art is final.
So with that, Universal Orlando Resort is expanding, And because they didn't announce anything other than the park is looming on the horizon, there's plenty more to come. It's an exciting time for Universal. |
