Gretings internet dwellers! Two HHN announcements so early in April? Yes, that happened. Today, Halloween Horror Nights announced the classic horror film, The Exorcist is coming to HHN XXVI! The Exorcist is also coming to HHN Hollywood this year. In the Universal blog, Mike discusses the challenges of bringing The Exorcist to HHN, and translating it into a house. “How do you adapt a film where most of the story takes place in a single bedroom? The answer we landed on was first to break down and assess all the visuals and moments from the film. Piece together every moment within that bedroom and examine why it was intense, scary or even vile. What textures can we reconstruct differently, sometimes in an incredibly abstract way? The famous “pea soup” scene for instance. What if we were surrounded in the materials of the retch-covered bed? What if those layers of mattress padding literallyenveloped us? And let’s be honest, traversing through a vomit-covered bed is pretty horrifying and disgusting by itself. Now add a possessed girl into the mix!" Got to be honest, I am very excited the announcement wasn't something else today. Glad, it's this. At the same time, very nervous as to how this will be pulled off. The Exorcist is my favorite horror film of all time. It is the only successful one, to actually terrify me. I own the damn thing, but refuse to watch it. EVER. You can see the video announcement below. Greetings internet dwellers! In a ridiculously early announcement, it has been confirmed that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, is coming to Halloween Horror Nights XXVI. The team is going for the classic film, rather than the remake (which they did in 2007). There is also another Texas Chain Saw film, waiting to be released in the wings. Personally, I am indifferent to the property. The original film is one of my all time favorites, but having it at HHN this year seems a little random. However, I guess Freddy and Jason had their due last year. You can see the announcement video below. So it begins. So freaking early for this stuff.
