Greetings internet dwellers!
So, Us has been officially announced for Halloween Horror Nights this year. The drama surrounding this has been quite known I think, by most people. At least to those who follow things closely. Depending on who you talk to, Us replaced an original house, very late in the game. It created quite the tizzy among some people.
That being said, I think Us is a good choice to come to the event. It's one of the most successful horror films of the year, making a shitload of money. It's Jordan Peele, a director who is extremely hot right now and at the top of his game. There was a call to have Get Out at the event a few years, but that ultimately didn't materialize.
I think Us is a better fit, to bring to the event anyway. It's more of a straight forward horror film than Get Out. While it still plays with social themes and issues like Get Out, the film is more accessible on the surface. This has me both nervous and excited. I really enjoy Us, but I think this has a whole lot of potential to fail. Given its late addition, and the themes, it's going to be tough. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for this, but a bit nervous.
Anyway, so Us, is coming. You can see the announcement video below.
