HOUSE RANKING UPDATE, STEAMROLLING TOWARDS THE END

Greetings internet dwellers!

Well, we are briskly marching towards the conclusion to HHN XXVI. Sad face, I know. It has been an interesting event so far. I would describe it as a bit uneven, but fun. The crowd situation has been interesting. This has been the first time in a long time, you can actually plot the flow of traffic, and beat it. 

​Anyway, we will get to all my thoughts wrapped up in a bow, at the end of the event. For now, time to update my house rankings. 

HOUSE RANKING UPDATE

There has been a slight shake-up in my rankings. A few of the houses, have lost a bit of steam for me, and others, have amped it up.

9. LUNATIC'S PLAYGROUND 3D

CURRENT RATING: 1/5
Once again, I was able to do this house by myself. Even by myself, it does nothing to bring any kind of enjoyment out of the house for me.

8. KRAMPUS

CURRENT RATING: 2.5/5
They have tried to make this thing better, but there is very little you can do at this point. Some of the elves, are trying to be a bit more aggressive, and they added some more falling snow.

7. AMERICAN HORROR STORY

CURRENT RATING: 3/5
As of right now, American Horror Story is the most inconsistent house at HHN XXVI. Had a few run through's, where things were quite intense. However, the majority of my visits, the scares and intensity, are just not there. Pretty sets, but not a whole lot else.

6. TOMB OF THE ANCIENTS

CURRENT RATING: 3.5/5
My how the mighty have fallen. There has been a noticeable drop in intensity, and scares in Tomb. I know they made some changes recently. It hurts the house a lot.

5. THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE

CURRENT RATING: 4.5/5
Been a victim of bad timing my last few times through Texas. Still, it's a great house, and an awesome experience for fans of the original film.

4. THE WALKING DEAD

CURRENT RATING: 4.5/5
​I really am in love with this house. They did such a great job making environments, feel new. The scares are creative, the Walkers are intense, and the house feels fun.

3. THE EXORCIST

CURRENT RATING: 5/5
I still really love the approach taken to this house. The Regans are intense, and they really try to scare you at the most opportune times. I love how this thing escalates as you go on. It gives the mid section of the house, some great urgency.

2. HALLOWEEN: HELL COMES TO HADDONFIELD

CURRENT RATING: 5/5
Haven't really had a bad run through of this house yet. I adore what they did with Halloween 2. Lots of creative scares, hidden doors, and intensity. Still one of the best houses at the event.

1. GHOST TOWN: THE CURSE OF LIGHTNING GULTCH

CURRENT RATING: 5/5
For a little bit there, Ghost Town seemed to lack that little extra punch for me, to send it to number 1. It has corrected that the last few weeks. The rain is on, the scares are on, and everything comes together nicely.

5. A CHANCE IN HELL

CURRENT RATING: 1/5
​Not much can be said, that I already haven't said. Moving on.

4. DEAD MAN'S WARF

CURRENT RATING: 3/5
Still a very pretty Scare Zone. However, the bottleneck created by the mobs of people, hurt it. A lot.

3. LAIR OF THE BANSHEES (OR WHATEVER IT IS THEY ARE CALLING IT THESE DAYS)

CURRENT RATING: 3/5
​Like Dead Man's Warf, Banshee is hurt by the crowds. However, I have noticed an uptick in the intensity by the actor's.

2. SURVIVE OR DIE

CURRENT RATING: 3/5
Actually found myself mulling about in here, more so than in the past. Some of the actor's have tried harder to startle you.

1. VAMP 1955

CURRENT RATING: 3.5/5
​Arguably the most "fun" Scare Zone. Still, not a big fan of all the Zones as a whole.

So that's it for me this week. I will return to HHN next Thursday. I will also be at for the 30th and 31st, of which I will be staying on site. Can't wait for that.
