Greetings internet dwellers! It's finally "official" and I couldn't be happier. The classic Tobe Hooper/Steven Spielberg collaboration, Poltergeist is making its debut at Halloween Horror Nights. Not only am I thrilled to have this be featured at the event, but I want to echo a bit of what Charles Gray said in the blog. Poltergeist means a lot to me. This was a film I fondly remember watching as a kid. This, and Gremlins, were two of the first "early" horror films I ever saw. While Gremlins is a bit more comedic, Poltergeist is the definitely the scarier film. Aspects of this movie still get under my skin today. Of course, as I grew older and became more interested in making films, the stories of the first films' production, and the subsequent "Poltergeist curse", only enhance the viewing experience. Like The Exorcist from a few years before, I am really interested to see how they do this. It appears, we will actually be going "into the light". What does that look like? At least, to Art & Design? How, if at all, are they going to pull off certain effects? I would love to see some of those classic effects, try to become a reality- for better or worse. Anyway, so it's coming. They're coming. And I can't wait. Comments are closed.
